Settings - custom terminology

In this tab You can find Custom terminology which is a feature that allows you to improve translation accuracy by providing your own specialized vocabulary or terms. This is especially useful for domain- or industry-specific terminology that may not be accurately translated.

How it's working:

  • You're uploading a CSV file:
Logs app on the left panel

You can upload a CSV file where the first column contains words or phrases in the source language. The source language is the language that is used when other translations for other languages are not provided and the fallback to source function is checked.

  • Fallback to source option:

After uploading the CSV, You can choose to go back to source language. When this option is enabled, any missing translations of specific words or phrases in the target languages will be replaced with the corresponding words in the source language, and these translations will be applied to all supported languages.

  • Improving translation quality:

By providing custom terminology, You will use it in conjunction with its translation models to ensure that specific words or phrases are accurately translated, leading to a more tailored and precise translation.

  • Remove All Terminologies:

To manage custom terminologies, the app provides a Remove All Terminologies button which allows the user to clear all added custom terms and start over if needed.

In conclusion, the custom terminology serves to improve the quality of translations by allowing You to specify Your own vocabulary, providing more accurate and domain-specific translations for their applications. The Fallback to Source option helps to handle missing translations, and the Remove All Terminologies button allows You to clear custom terms You have added.
